Dutch director Mees Peijnenburg offers a quiet but powerful window on divorce in modern Europe told empathetically through the eyes of a brother and sister each trying to each find their own ways and hopefully a path together through the aftermath of the bitter war between their parents.
Starring Carice van Houten (Game of Thrones) and Pieter Embrechts as the frustrated, divorcing parents and impressive youngsters Celeste Holsheimer and Finn Vogels as their embattled children this quietly observed family drama offers a heartfelt portrait of the sadness of divorce told from the perspective of those caught in the crossfire but too often not properly considered.

“With two young actors showing great talent and good work behind the camera, including Peijnenburg’s assured direction, there is enough to recommend this film.” – International Cinephile Society
“A Family is tender, unflinching, and deeply human—a quiet storm you’ll feel long after it ends.” – TheCurb
“Director Mees Peijnenburg resists sensationalism, choosing instead to observe what happens when family life collapses into procedure, and children are asked to navigate adult failure without the language to name it.”- Next Best Picture
