Toni Servillo won a Best Actor statue at the Venice Film Festival for his performance in director Paolo Sorrentino’s latest. Servillo plays outgoing Italian president Mariano De Santis who, as he prepares to leave the political stage, must make some fateful final decisions. As memories of his late wife flood his thoughts and his long-suffering but loyal daughter Dorotea (Anna Ferzetti) tries her best to support him, Mariano confronts unanswered questions from his past as he decides what kind of life he wants to live and considers the legacy he might leave behind.
